Hack #43 Recliner chair back removal.
Luc Coulombe, a member of the GD 22MLE Facebook page, posted this info to explain how to remove the back of the theater seating chairs.
You can add a bus bar / extension cord behind them to stop the power packs from dislodging. Just secure the extension wire to the wall with a cable clamp.
If you ever need to get behind the theatre seats you can easily remove the back cushion.
From behind, lift the leather flap and feel for those little tabs I’ve identified in the photo. There’s one on each side of the cushion.
Pull the little tabs toward the middle of the seat while pulling up on the cushion. Repeat for the other side.
The 2 wires going into the back cushion for the massager both have quick disconnects. It doesn’t matter which one goes where when you reconnect them.
To reinstall, just line up the flange from the bottom with the groove of the backrest on both side and it will click back securely.
