Newbie Checklists
Set-up Checklist
Pulling/Backing into site:
- Get out of tow vehicle (TV)!
- Locate utilities – water, electric and sewer connections.
- Move table if needed.
- Observe tree locations and branches.
- Observe grading of site – level or not.
- Decide on where you want the RV to be located in the site.
- Use a spotter – no matter what.
- Stop about three feet short of position to allow placement of leveling blocks under where wheels will end up..
- Check side-to-side level.
- Position leveling blocks if needed for wheels.
- Back up onto blocks.
- Recheck level and adjust if needed.
Disconnecting from TV and setting up.
(* * * Skip the starred steps if you are NOT unhooking your tow vehicle. * * *)
- Chock wheels! ! !
- * Remove safety chains and brake safety connector from hitch.
- * Unlock (if lock is used) and release hitch lock on tongue.
- Extend tongue jack to ground until hitch rises slightly.
- * Raise trailer with tongue jack and remove weight distribution bars (and anti sway).
- * When Tongue clears ball on hitch, unplug wiring cable (for lights) and move tow vehicle away. You should unplug even if staying connected to TV.
- * Check leveling front-to-back and adjust by raising or lowering tongue jack.
- Lower corner stabilization jacks. (Can be skipped if leaving connected to tow vehicle.)
- Connect electrical first (optional if not available).
- Plug surge suppressor/monitor into plug on pedestal and check that proper lights are on.
- Plug power cable into suppressor/monitor.
- Plug power cable into RV.
- Connect Water (optional if not available).
- Take care to keep the connections clean and free of dirt. Do not let them touch the ground.
- Connect pressure regulator to faucet on pedestal.
- Connect in line filter to regulator,
- Connect water to RV.
- Connect sewer (optional if not available).
- Remove cap from drain on RV.
- Connect clear elbow(s).
- Connect hose(s).
- Add stilts to maintain a downward slope on drain.
- Connect elbow with seals.
- Place elbow securely into site sewer connection.
- Place a weight on top if elbow does not seat tightly.
- Extend slides.
- Turn on propane.
- Extend canopy.
- Check to see if anything moved during transportation and remedy.
Take-down Checklist
Packing up.

- Make sure everything inside the RV is secure.
- Pack all loose items away.
- Retract canopy.
- Turn off propane.
- Clean top of slide off if no cover installed.
- Retract slides.
- Raise corner stabilization jacks if lowered. Do NOT forget this one ! ! !
- Disconnect sewer (if connected).
* * * * Try to close and fill your grey water tank(s) the night before if you are going to dump your black water tank so you have plenty of water to flush the hoses. * * * *
- Dump black tank first.
- Use the black tank flush system if you have it.
- Partially fill and drain until the water draining looks clear and no more solid waste is seen in elbows.
- Firmly close the blank tank valve and open the grey tank.
- Partially fill and drain until the water draining looks clear in elbows.
- Disconnect hose from trailer and replace cap on trailer drain.
- Optional – use a water hose (NOT your fresh water hose) to do a final rinse of the inside of the hose.
- Lift hose high from trailer toward the campsite drain to make sure all water is drained into the stilts to maintain a downward slope on drain.
- Connect elbow with seals.
- Place elbow securely into site sewer connection.
- Place a weight on top if elbow does not seat tightly.
- Disconnect Water (if connected).
- Take care to keep the connections clean and free of dirt. Do not let them touch the ground.
- Turn of water at the pedestal.
- Open any faucet inside the RV to release pressure then close it.
- Disconnect and stow hoses and attachments.
- Disconnect electrical (if connected). I do this last to keep refrigerator running as long as possible
- Disconnect any cables and attachments.
Hooking up:

- * Back tow vehicle (TV) up close to hitch.
- * Raise tongue to clear ball on hitch.
- * Position TV so that hitch ball is directly under tongue.
- * Lower trailer with tongue jack (retract) until it just starts to lower hitch,
- * Install weight distribution bars (and anti sway).
- Plug in wiring cable (for lights).
- Retract (raise) tongue jack completely.
- * Secure hitch lock on tongue. Add lock (if lock is used).
- * Install safety chains and brake safety connector from hitch.
- Remove wheel chocks. You may have to move TV slightly.
- If you used leveling blocks under the wheels, pull forward about three feet.
- Remove and stow all leveling blocks and chocks.
- Walk around the trailer (all the way around) and make sure everything is disconnected, slides are in, covers are secure, and nothing is under the trailer or tires.
- Make another visual check of the hitch to make sure the wire is plugged in, safety chains and brake cable hooked up and the ball latch is closed and locked.
- Have spotter help check all lighting.
- Observe tree locations and branches again before pulling out.
- Use a spotter – no matter what.
